Governance structure

Espace Aéro is a sister business unit of Aéro Montréal, overseen by a joint board of directors (BoD) shared with Quebec’s aerospace cluster.

The board is composed of 18 directors representing major contractors, SMEs, academic and institutional communities, ensuring balanced representation of Quebec’s aerospace ecosystem for Aéro Montréal and Espace Aéro.

The board of directors’ mandate is to oversee the organization’s administrative, budgetary, legal, and human resources matters. It ensures legal compliance, financial management, and approves strategic decisions.

The Strategic and Operational Committee (SOC)

Espace Aéro’s strategic directions and operational deployment are overseen by a Strategic and Operational Committee. Its mandate is to define and approve the organization’s development priorities and strategic planning, in alignment with the objectives of Quebec’s aerospace ecosystem.

 

The SOC brings together decision-makers from Espace Aéro member organizations around key themes to ensure alignment between the organization’s strategic vision and its operational implementation. It serves as a decision-making body to review and approve recommendations from the Strategic Scientific Committee (SSC), the initiatives, or other specialized committees, in order to validate Espace Aéro’s direction, positioning, and actions.

The Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Québec (CRIAQ) leads Espace Aéro’s Scientific and Strategic Committee (SSC).

Espace Aéro’s Scientific and Strategic Committee (SSC) is mandated to identify technological directions and priorities based on the industry’s key needs.

 

This committee brings together organizations from Quebec’s aerospace innovation ecosystem and plays a central role in aligning priorities between industry and the research community.
